The American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal), in partnership with Staggered Private Equity, convened a focused diaspora engagement in Charlotte, North Carolina—bringing together Nepali-origin leaders across banking, private equity, entrepreneurship, and real estate to deepen the U.S.–Nepal investment dialogue.

Held in one of the United States’ major financial centers and home to Bank of America, the engagement reflects AmCham Nepal’s growing role in advancing commercial diplomacy—connecting capital, policy, and diaspora expertise to Nepal’s development priorities.

The dialogue centered on unlocking structured investment pathways into Nepal and aligning private sector momentum with the Government of Nepal’s economic vision. Participants expressed strong interest in working with AmCham Nepal as a credible platform to channel investment, shape sectoral priorities, and strengthen long-term economic linkages.

Amir Thapa, Executive Director of AmCham Nepal, stated: “AmCham Nepal is committed to supporting the Government of Nepal’s vision of job creation through increased U.S. investment. The engagement highlighted the increasing confidence among diaspora professionals to actively contribute—through investment, membership, and strategic collaboration—positioning themselves as partners in Nepal’s economic transformation. Recent high-level engagements, including interactions with S. Paul Kapur and special envoy Sergio Gore, have further reinforced a conducive environment for strengthening U.S.–Nepal economic cooperation. There is growing momentum within the U.S. private sector to expand engagement, underscoring the importance of continued policy clarity, investment facilitation, and trust-building mechanisms.

AmCham Nepal continues to position itself as a strategic partner to both governments and the private sector, supporting a transition toward deeper trade and investment collaboration. The Chamber will expand similar engagements across key U.S. cities to better understand diaspora priorities and mobilize global expertise toward Nepal’s growth. Through these efforts, AmCham Nepal is strengthening its membership value proposition while enabling its members and partners to play a meaningful role in advancing inclusive economic growth and shared prosperity between Nepal and the United States.
